Blue in the Face

If at all times arising inordinate dust
upon the surface of speech,
further discussion must
be altered by cleansing fever.
By accident, the unseen,
unsung weaver of tropes
ends up hanging from
the very ropes they’ve fashioned.
Have we rationed our vocabulary
in an orderly way? Or
have we managed to yet again
filibuster ourselves into a corner?
