A matter of trust

The light which spills from her face
could fill the loneliest, most awful place.

Ten paces from the highway sign,
she draws a line into the soil.

And there we toil, toil soundlessly
beneath the feathers of the moon,

carving runes onto each other’s eyes
and coping with each other’s lies.
