Moments More Significant

Standard

He rushed in brandishing a torrent
As gracious as it was delirious.

She withheld her breath for moments more
Significant. And she removed the veil.

Delicate river at once revealed
More delicate, perhaps, than Autumn rain,

And certainly more delicate than
The swelling hurricane between his legs.

And slowly, the river overflowed
She, swept up in a deluge of muscle

Spasms, like a toppled power line
Heaving one last sight as the clouds parted.

He poured over her immaculate
Geography. His own was drenched as well

In his delirium, he strew her
Navel with ivory flower petals –
